Figures for the Algarve’s peak holiday month have shown that last month the region’s hotels and tourist resorts were close full, with an average room occupancy rate of close to 94 percent.

This is despite a drop in the British source market following the weakening of the pound sterling, which was in part compensated by a rise in the national market.

Last month’s room occupancy rate is, according to the Algarve’s largest hotel association AHETA, on a par with last year.
