Discover Puerto Rico is offering live guided tours with Google Earth

As we remain at home practicing physical distancing, Discover Puerto Rico, the destination’s marketing organization, is the first to educate and entertain virtual tourists by offering live guided tours across the island using Google Earth.
The tours will be led by Jorge Montalvo from Patria Tours and will consist of a series of three tours utilizing Google Earth for the duration of National Travel and Tourism Week, which is May 3 to 9.
Although they may not be able to journey there right now, guests will feel as though they are experiencing the next best thing. With the live virtual tours, users can visit Puerto Rico’s many breathtaking natural wonders, “off the beaten path experiences,” and abundance of culture.
And it all comes with the real-life tour feel through having the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the guide as they go.
“With nearly 73 percent of Americans saying they miss travel, we want to continue offering travelers ways to vacation virtually,” Discover Puerto Rico CEO Brad Dean said in the official press release.
“Through these and other activations we’ve been offering, we’ve not only been able to keep Puerto Rico top of mind, reminding travelers of everything that will be waiting for them when the time is right to travel again, but it’s also given us the opportunity to highlight valued members of the local tourism industry.”
Each tour will last approximately 30 minutes. Those wishing to participate can do so through the Discover Puerto Rico Facebook page.
