A nossa  equipa falou com a Dra Helena Pato, nascida em 1939, militante ativa na Resistência anti-regime/ ditadura, durante as duas décadas que antecederam a Revolução dos Cravos. Foi vigiada, perseguida, presa e torturada pela PIDE. Soube o que era o exílio e envolveu-se de forma ativa em lutas estudantis, em grupos de defesa dos direitos das mulheres, de eleições livres, no movimento associativo/ sindical dos docentes, como professora (de Matemática que foi ao longo de 36 anos). Dirigiu alguns destes movimentos e outros ligados à preservação da memória. No Facebook, criou os grupos Antifascistas da Resistência e Fascismo Nunca Mais.

Our team spoke to Dr. Helena Pato, born in 1939, an active militant in the anti-regime/dictatorship Resistance during the two decades before the Carnation Revolution. She was watched, persecuted, imprisoned and tortured by PIDE. She learned what exile was like and became actively involved in student struggles, groups defending women’s rights, free elections, the teachers’ association/union movement, as a teacher (of mathematics for 36 years). She led some of these movements and others linked to the preservation of memory. On Facebook, she created the groups Antifascistas da Resistência and Fascismo Nunca Mais.
